Set along the serene banks of Fort Lauderdale’s New River, this two-level residence is a celebration of tailored modern design infused with personal character. With pristine water views anchoring the concept, the design orients itself around openness and flow, capturing the natural beauty that surrounds it.
Commissioned by a pilot with an eye for detail, the brief called for a fully customized interior design. This 3000 sq.ft design is contemporary in language yet warm in materiality. The first floor embraces an open-plan concept where the kitchen, living, and dining spaces converge seamlessly. Dark wood finishes in the modern kitchen contrast elegantly against light-toned walls, while slatted wood, glass doors, and wall paneling define zones without disrupting spatial continuity. Niches formed by walls and soffits provide subtle architectural articulation.
A tropical-inspired courtyard at the heart of the plan enhances the indoor-outdoor connection, introducing natural light and lush textures to the core of the home. Upstairs, the private zone features a master suite and two additional bedrooms, each outfitted with sleek Italian closets that reflect the home’s refined sensibility.
The residence is a study in contrasts with light and dark, open and defined which are brought together through meticulous choices in lighting, furniture, and material palettes. Stone and wood finishes, combined with curated furnishings, complete the home’s transformation into a modern den that is as functional as it is visually grounded in its riverside context.
